This sweep follows earlier, equally targeted raids against The Tapestry of the Shadow Archipelagos, enemies to the Labyrinth. There too, over six hundred network operatives were scooped up, their contraband fizzled away into bureaucratic evidence. Since both syndicates were classified as cosmic terror organizations by Orbital Prime in February, patrol drones, cold budgets and orders for boundless confiscation, have rained down upon them.
Under the holographic authority of Supreme Commander Drumpf, Orbital Prime is pursuing maximum containment of everything seeping from the Rift Valley towards the ringworld. These same valleys tremble with infighting among the Tapestry’s factions-scions of Quarvax the Tunnel Overlord and Mirax the Space Shade fight endless covert skirmishes. Recently, an improbable alliance emerged: the sons of Quarvax, weakened by internal turmoil, sought help from the Labyrinth of Infernal Links in exchange for fighters and tech. The deal granted the Infernal Links access to the infamous tunneling system along the Barrier Cloud of the Border Heralds, through which smuggling flows remain unchecked.
At the head of these merged clans, Autarch Chitinox of the Nocturnal Labyrinth Syndicates has withdrawn into a hyperfortified web deep in The Ring-Complex of Obscura Prime. The citadel-ringed by mines, guarded by shadow protectrons and reprogrammed Colombian body-units-remains untouchable for now. Authorities know their quarry, but no regime dares a frontal assault; the risk of galactic war is simply too vast and bureaucratically tangled to contemplate.
