pocalypse on Viridis Drift: The Trembling Gardens Devour All!
Once again, Viridis Drift has fallen prey to a force of nature leaving even the hardiest chaos-walker speechless: a botanical quake of galactic magnitude. What remains is wreckage, panic, and bureaucracy on a cosmic scale.
Stardate 4422.228 - Chaos reigns in the famously unstable biospheres of Viridis Drift, as the Trembling Gardens have once again managed to outdo themselves in wanton destruction. In the night, while half of Port Nexus Vylood sheltered from the usual storm of chromatic moss, the floating islands split wide open after a catastrophic energy impulse. Botanical quakes measuring 7.7 on the fictitious Rotation Scale tore through forests, markets, and root bridges alike, with glowing shockwaves rippling across the entire archipelago.
According to the Order of the Fluctuants, at least 38 inhabitants (most of them luckily chameleonic or semi-substantial) vanished into moss fissures, with many more wounded-although 'many' here means everyone not yet lost to form-laden bureaucracy. Two citizens are still missing, presumed evaporated into dislocated root chambers or absorbed by transient botanical singularities.
Port Nexus Vylood in particular suffered devastation: a portion of the famous harbor market gave way and collapsed, burying travelers waiting in the floating lounge. Drone footage captured the instant a walkway-once advertised as 'safest in the Archipelago'-snapped loose, hurling passengers straight into the shimmering fluid below.
Meanwhile, the Synod of the Cyclical Watchers activated Protocol Evaporating Escape Line: a traditional tsunami warning, sending tens of thousands in panicked pilgrimage to crystalline peaks, bureaucrats and instruction drones flailing in their wake. The so-called plasma wave later proved to be little more than an overblown excuse for getting everyone wet, but by then confusion had achieved perfection, just as the locals like it.
More than a hundred aftershocks-some potent enough to erase entire market sectors-followed, much to the exasperation of the Order of the Lithosaphs, who would have thrown their measuring equipment out the window (if only they had windows).
Widespread power loss burdened both healers and oracle-communicators with the impossible task of gathering information without data channels, forcing medical flora and equipment outdoors in chaotic evacuations. Survivors now complain their homes-or root bridges-have relocated treacherously overnight.
