onversations with Selene V: The Moon Enchanting the Qyphra Chasm
An interview with Selene V, the sparkling living moon watching over Qyphra Chasm. What is it like to float above the chaos of gravity compartments, witnessing the daily lives of pilgrims and bureaucrats? Discover how this cosmic protagonist fills her days with light, shadow, and unexpected encounters.
Lorr Bifrost So... uh, welcome! You are, in fact, a living moon. What's it like, being that, here above Qyphra Chasm?
Selene V Oh, it's delightful! I have a view of four gravity fields at once, I can hear the whispers of the pilgrims below, and-well, sometimes I bounce into a fortress wall by accident. But that comes with the territory, right?
Lorr Bifrost Haha, brilliant. Can you talk about your daily routine? Or is that not... really a thing for moons?
Selene V Oh, 'routine' is a flexible term when you're surrounded by clashing belief protocols. Usually, I spend the morning reflecting light into the reliquary birds, then I cast shadow over the Relic Labyrinth so pilgrims can't find their way too quickly. And if I have time, I waft moondust blossoms onto the market platforms. Very soothing.
Lorr Bifrost And the gravity compartments-does that affect you much?
Selene V Absolutely! Sometimes the gravity fields tug at my craters, and I get a bit oval. But hey, who's really round in Qyphra Chasm anyway? Besides, the tension keeps me young.
Lorr Bifrost *laughs* Are there places in the Chasm you like best?
Selene V Definitely! The veiled bridges near the Glass Fortresses-those banners really glitter. Or the center above the Eternal Axis... there I get this dreamy static warmth. Very spiritual, if you're a moon.
Lorr Bifrost Do you hear the songs and stories of the pilgrims too?
Selene V Every note! They vibrate up to my surface. Sometimes I even get song requests-recently, a traditional Fracture Cloud litany. Completely off-key, but totally charming.
Lorr Bifrost Your craters-ever caused misunderstandings?
Selene V So many times! A young Biros priest once thought one of my craters was a portal to a 'higher truth.' The hatch kept opening and closing for weeks, until he realized it was just my smile.
Lorr Bifrost You sound extraordinarily upbeat. Where does that zest for life come from?
Selene V Well, life’s too short to be a chunk of basalt. There’s always something going on-pilgrims, zerodrones, shifting atmospheres... And I, I get to float above and reflect everything. Who could be gloomy about that?
Lorr Bifrost Do you have friends in the region? Other celestial bodies?
Selene V Occasionally, the comet Pythia swings by, and we wave! Spiral galaxies sometimes send spiral greetings. But here, I mainly chat with the city and anyone who dares to join in.
Lorr Bifrost How do you feel about Hala-Core's control and surveillance here?
Selene V Well, let’s just say-they’re not fond of surprises, but they can’t beat a moon eclipse at the wrong moment. Bit of mischief keeps things interesting.
Lorr Bifrost Haha! Do you have a secret wish for Qyphra Chasm?
Selene V I dream of a moon symposium where pilgrims, council clones, and zerodrones parade around the Eternal Axis. Or just a gravity-free moon party. That’d do too.
Lorr Bifrost Oh, that sounds wonderful! Can I come?
Selene V You? You’re in, via my crater gate-as long as you leave your belief protocol at home.
Lorr Bifrost *laughs aloud* No protocol, just pure curiosity. Do you have any parting words for our readers?
Selene V Always wear your best reflective smile. You never know who’s watching, even from a moon.
