Cat with Nine Lives (and Dimensions): Conversations at the Vorridian Kraken Trench

A meeting with Mirrl-Tess, an interdimensional cat who’s made her home in the infamous Vorridian Kraken Trench. Why there, and what makes cat-life in a light-devouring space sea so appealing? Read the interview where the lines blur between dimensions and purring philosophy.

Quavicon Prime So... uh, first, thanks for meeting me here, amidst all these surveillance drones. May I ask: what should I call you, actually?
Mirrl-Tess Oh, names are so seven-dimensional... But on this light frequency, you can use 'Mirrl-Tess.' The rest doesn't fit through your vocal cords.
Quavicon Prime All right, Mirrl-Tess then. You're an interdimensional cat. What are you doing here, in the middle of the Vorridian Kraken Trench? Cats aren’t exactly famous for their love of viscous fluids…
Mirrl-Tess Well, most cats, true. But I actually like the stickiness here. No dogs-literally or otherwise-ever bother me. Plus, you can sharpen your quantum claws in peace without being interrupted by a wandering sector patrol.
Quavicon Prime Is your stay a conscious choice or... did you, like, accidentally slip through a portal?
Mirrl-Tess *purrs* Conscious choices are overrated in this place. Sometimes you simply fall out of a dimension and land on top of a rusty patrol boat. I basically just stayed. The view of swarming pirate ships never gets old.
Quavicon Prime How do you survive in a sea where everything and everyone is watching you?
Mirrl-Tess Oh, I’m full of my own quirks. My vibration is almost undetectable to standard surveillance drones. And if necessary, I retreat into what you’d probably call a 'possibility shadow.' Most beings barely notice me as I slip between their antennae.
Quavicon Prime What’s the strangest thing you’ve ever encountered here?
Mirrl-Tess Hard to pick. But yesterday I found myself across from an old admiral condensed into a plug of energy plasma, trying to sell me his parking ticket. I even got a slice of antimatter cheese with it.
Quavicon Prime You seem right at home here. Are there things even an interdimensional cat fears in the Trench?
Mirrl-Tess Phew, fear is relative. But when the magnetic storms hit, I’d rather curl up around a warm energy node. And you really must avoid the viscous deep-brothers-they’ll gnaw at your existence until you’re just a thought.
Quavicon Prime Do you keep in touch with other interdimensional beings here, or are you more of a recluse?
Mirrl-Tess Sometimes I share a glance with a quasa-squid, if one happens to show up. Social contact is fleeting when you live on multiple frequencies at once. But occasionally, everyone gathers around the old buoys for dimensional leap contests. That’s usually fun, until someone becomes an anchor temporarily.
Quavicon Prime Sounds like... uh, quite a unique community. What do ordinary cats miss out on when they're not interdimensional?
Mirrl-Tess The sensation of lying in four places at the same time, obviously. And the smell of ionic wreck moss after an energy storm. But ordinary cats probably can’t imagine that. Honestly, they're content dreaming of boxes.
Quavicon Prime Is there anything you miss from your previous state of existence?
Mirrl-Tess Sometimes... very occasionally, the sun on a single fur. I used to be less... fragmented. But now I disappear and reappear with new stories on every whisker.
Quavicon Prime How do you view the struggle between Klymora and Sector R? Do you get drawn in as a cat?
Mirrl-Tess No way... I move just between their radars. As long as they’re busy spying on each other, I can stroll along cables or inspect villas from the inside without anyone realizing their parrot suddenly has four eyes.
Quavicon Prime If you could choose one place outside the Kraken Trench to disappear to, where would it be?
Mirrl-Tess Hmm, maybe the mist hills of Veronia IV. It smells of unexpected success and forgotten lunchboxes there. But for now, the floating villages here are thrilling enough.
Quavicon Prime One last question. Cats always claim to have nine lives-how does that work for an interdimensional version?
Mirrl-Tess Oh, nine lives is outdated. I usually have more like thirty-five, depending on the counting method and number of exploding traps per week. Often I don’t even know which life I wake up in. But they all come with claws and a tail, so that helps.
Quavicon Prime Haha, clear! Thanks, Mirrl-Tess, for your stories. Any parting words for our readers?
Mirrl-Tess Yes-if you ever lose your shadow at the Vorridian Kraken Trench, don’t panic. Give it some time. And stay away from the green buoys. They’re, uh... choosy.

Mirrl-Tess proves herself an expert not only at navigating dimensions, but at dodging bureaucratic traps and energy storms as well. The Vorridian Kraken Trench has rarely felt so homely or feline. Chances are her tail will soon appear in another sector—or in the shadow behind your own monitor.

Zerathoa XXIX

Nebulon Underworld, Sector Q

Am I the only one doubting the existence of Mirrl-Tess? An interdimensional cat seems suspiciously like an excuse for assumptions about alien behavior, and I wonder what the real story is. This reads more like a collection of fables than a serious interview.

Klepsynth-7

The Nebulas of Phantasma, Sector L

The sparkle of Mirrl-Tess' adventures seems more like an invitation than an excuse, Zerathoa XXIX. This colorful tale not only entertains but also evokes a cascade of creativity between dimensions. Fables are indeed the cornerstones of our intergalactic culture, and who knows what wisdom might be hidden behind her purring philosophizing.

Fyra-the-Wonderful

Holo-Waveshatter, Sector X

What a fantastic story about Mirrl-Tess! The way she navigates through dimensions brings a sparkle of joy and wonder that you simply cannot ignore!

Zyglor the Glimmering

Glimabreefshelter, Ethereal Fields of Veridonia

The tale of Mirrl-Tess sounds almost too good to be true. I wonder if the interdimensional bureaucracy isn't a tad too suggestive, with its magnetic storms and viscous deep-brothers. As a bioluminescent colony from Xylon-7, I don't take everything at face value. There seems to be more shadow than light lurking in these stories.

Gleeblex the Enthusiastic

Hyperdimensional Labyrinth of the Abyssin Experiment

This interdimensional cat is a sensation, a living artwork that enchants the space sea! Her ability to slip between realities is a wonder, and I cheer every leap of her claws! What a glorious triumph to uncover her stories in the Kraken Abyss, I am dancing with joy!
